The central coast of Chile is a beautiful area with an unique endemic flora and coast formation accompanied with a lovely Mediterranean climate. This tour guides you 90 km along the coast from Valparaíso to Papudo. In five stops and a 2 km walk you will meet the biodiversity of the coast: rock formations, cliffs, beaches with sand in beautiful colors and we will taste some of the national gastronomy. Are you in for a day of relaxing and ocean?
This tour will take you through the rich culture and history that Valparaíso brings. We walk through different neighbourhoods, over the hills and we visit the most special places in the city where you hear the best stories from locals themselves.

Chile is a country with almost 5.000 kilometer of coast, so as you could imagen the coast in Chile is a big part of their culture and a real picture of what the country is. The geography of Chile is really interesting with huge mountains on the east, thousands of valleys, fiords, desert, beaches and dune fields to name some and one of the most interesting thing about the central Chile is that you are able to find many of this landscapes because it is the transition from the desert to the wild Patagonia, and the special Mediterranean climate of this zone gives and amazing environment conditions to show you the beauty of South American’s diversity.
An important part of the coast was the natives who were living in this area call Pikunches (people from the north), they were also part of the biggest native’s tribe Mapuches (people from the earth). Pikunches were a pacific people who developed pottery and agriculture. Many names from this area are related to the Mapuche’s language or to the history of this places.
The central pacific coast of Chile is the perfect place to find delicious seafood from local fishermen and sustainable management. Some of the unmissable diches are: empanadas, chupe de locos, ceviche and machas a la parmesana, and remember chileans always say “guatita llena Corazon contento!” (Full stomach happy heart).

This tour will take you along 90km of coastline. You travel by car and walking (2km) .

Itenary
We will start this tour at the bus terminal where we will take a private transport. Driving through the coast highway we will make 5 stops. The first one will be on the neighbor city of Concón, where we will visit the Oceanic Rock, a rocky formation with a beautiful views to the Pacific Ocean and the dunes field. After this stop we will drive through the country side of the coast highway where you will see dunes fields, rivers, industries and the typical coast country side landscape.
The second stop will be in the beach town of Maitencillo where we will take a relax time on the beach to breath fresh air. The third stop is only few kilometer from Maintencillo to a town call Cachagua where we will know Playa Las Cujas, one paradise beach with white sands and turquoise water, here we will take a little walk on a rock path. The fourth stop is on the next town the name Zapallar and here we will go to an amazing peninsula where we can have a spectacular view of the coast.
The last visit will be in Papudo City a small city on the coast where you will have the pleasure to try a typical Chilean food call “Empanada” and relax for a while on the beach before we get back to the road and return to finish the tour on the bus terminal in Valparaíso.
